SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND LEARNING
Pip Triggs Speech Pathology is a specialist speech pathology service for primary and secondary students with language based learning difficulties. Based in Hunters Hill, this service provides individualised assessment and intervention to support the development of key language and literacy skills necessary for successful participation in the primary and secondary classroom.
Reading and writing are learned skills, just like learning to play an instrument or drive a car. These skills are refined during the school years and may come very easily to some students but can be hard work for others. There are many reasons why a student may have difficulty with their literacy development such as an underlying neurodevelopmental difference or gaps in their learning due to external factors. Regardless of the origin of a student’s difficulties, all will benefit from high quality evidence based intervention to progress their language and literacy skills.
Please contact Pip Triggs Speech Pathology if your child is struggling with their literacy development. An initial assessment is the first step to build a profile of your child’s language and literacy skills. Based on this analysis, a set of goals and recommendations will be developed. A block of individual therapy using evidence based intervention methods may also be an option for your child.
